A traveler asleep upright in a plane seat wearing the Dosaze Travel Neck Pillow, labeled: chin rest, wraparound support, cooling cover

5 reasons to pack this travel pillow for your next flight

Most travel pillows look alike in a photo. Before you buy any of them, check what holds your chin up, what the cover does with heat, and whether you can send it back after a real trip.

Left, illustration: a traveler with a standard grey U-shaped pillow, head dropping forward. Right: the same traveler with the Dosaze chin rest, head held up.

Your head stays up when you doze off.

A standard U-shaped pillow supports the sides of your head, so your chin drops to your chest when you fall asleep sitting up. This one adds a built-in chin rest and wraparound neck support that catch your head before it falls forward.

Check any travel pillow: what stops your chin from dropping? A U-shape alone doesn't.
"No more chin bobbing and stiff neck."

What is phase-change: fabric that soaks up heat as it warms, the way ice soaks up heat as it melts. Phase-change cooling: Dosaze yes; BCOZZY, WANDER+, Cabeau, Trtl and Ostrichpillow not listed.

A cooling cover, not just a soft one.

The ThermaCool™ cover is made with phase-change material. It soaks up heat as it warms, the way ice soaks up heat as it melts, so as your neck warms the cover on a long flight, the fabric absorbs some of that heat and the pillow feels cooler.

Check any travel pillow: does it name its cooling material, or just say "breathable"?

Competitor features as listed on each brand's website as of 10/7/2026.

Return it after using it? Dosaze yes, free; BCOZZY, Cabeau and Trtl unused only; WANDER+ you pay shipping; Ostrichpillow unused with a $4.99 fee. 60 nights, free returns, even after you use it.

Try it on your flight. Don't love it? Return it free.

Take it on your next trip, and the one after that. If it isn't for you, send it back within 60 nights for a full refund, and return shipping is free. Many brands only take back unused pillows, and some charge for return shipping or a return fee.

Check any travel pillow: can you return it after you've used it, and is the return free?
"I have tried 3 others over the years and this is by far the most comfortable, most supportive and easiest to travel with as it does fold back into the bag."
